2006-05-26 - Forces of Nature
Well, it looks like my family is the worst weather predictors ever. Two weeks ago we assumed it would be hot down in North Carolina. When we got to my brother's graduation, that morning it was 55 degrees. In May. In North Carolina! And today, my commencement was rained out. Yeah. The drops started as soon as we sat down, then they picked up, then they lightened up, then it poured. And nobody had umbrellas, so by the time my dad was able to go back to the car, then come back and give me one, a minute later they called it quits. I didn't even get to go up on stage. But I got my diploma. I think Prof. was there, but I didn't see him. Momedy said she did. I thought about going to the reception to look for him, but everyone wanted to go, so we left and went to IHOP. I had blueberry pancakes. Then the sun came out and my mom was not pleased. Oh, well. Dad said, "You're not a little girl anymore, you're a woman with a Master's degree." Well, shit, when you put it that way... |
